Job Summary:
This position is responsible for coordinating and executing day-to-day operations for evaluation and implementation projects within the Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC). The employee manages activities across the project lifecycle, including coordinating tasks, managing timelines, monitoring progress, and ensuring successful delivery of project objectives. The incumbent collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support project goals, troubleshoot operational challenges, and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Job Summary:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute and maintain recruitment, enrollment, and study period requirements and processes with guidance from project coordinator and Primary Investigators.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including data collection through in-person or over the phone study visits via interviews, administration of surveys, observation, field notes, and other data collection methods as applicable.
- Collect and manage research data in accordance with HIPAA & VA regulations for patient privacy.
- Prepare project documents including recruitment materials, stakeholder communications, and data collection forms.
- Manage, organize, and analyze study data via data management software.
- Document study visits and other study related activities in both paper and electronic form.
- Obtain familiarity with Institutional Review Board submission processes and regulations.
- Maintain relationships with study stakeholders and associated non-study personnel.
- Facilitate communication among Principal Investigators and study team to ensure timely achievement of project goals.
- Prepare reports for Institutional Review Board, Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB), and Primary study investigators as requested by the project manager.
- Train entry level research assistants in the informed consent process and in general VA policy and procedures.
- Support the project manager in day-to-day clinical research activities.
- Work with other team members to provide coverage for reporting adverse events when other team members are on leave.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher level of education in health or research-related field.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (EDCs) is required.
- Ability to quickly and effectively disseminate the electronic medical record.
- Experience working with institutional review boards (IRBs) and other regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of the interventional cardiology space, including and not limited to cardiac and peripheral catheter based interventions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse team, including students, nurses, social workers, and physicians in a clear way about cutting edge cardiovascular clinical technologies.
- Ability to problem-solve unexpected and novel technical and logistical challenges associated with clinical trials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication and time management skills.
- Highly motivated to interact with Veterans, patients, and their care providers.
- Ability to work extended and irregular hours, as needed per the PI and project manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Work is performed in multiple high-paced interior/office work environments, in/out-patient hospital and clinic.
- Subject/Patient interaction.
- Extensive computer use
- Occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds or more.
